School of Music
The Yolandi La Grange School of Music is based in Kenilworth (Cape Town, Southern Suburbs) and specialises in individual piano lessons, drawing on my many years’ experience teaching at both primary and high school levels. My approach to my instrument is a comprehensive one and I like my students to have a well-rounded knowledge and understanding of what they are trying to accomplish. Lessons are adapted according to each individual’s skills and abilities – whether a young child just starting out, an older student wanting to take it further, or an adult who’s always wanted to learn or who simply wants to pick up where they left off years previously.
When students achieve a certain level of proficiency and are keen to do so, I encourage them to enter the Trinity College London (TCL) external examinations as these do take their abilities up a level and reveal a variety of musical genres and styles to them – something important for every musician to explore.
